What is Relationship Coaching?
Relationship coaching is a structured, short-term approach to help couples and families strengthen their relationship by targeting specific areas for improvement. Relationship coaching for individuals helps them to identify patterns in their relationships and to develop interpersonal skills. Coaching sessions are goal-oriented and each session focuses on a specific relationship skill or area for growth based on the results of your assessment(s). The length and focus of each session is customized and each session progressively builds of previous sessions. All coaching sessions are conducted online to enable in-session access to coaching resources.
For Couples
Sessions progressively build off your initial assessment results to create a customized relationship enhancement program for you and your partner. Each session includes follow-up homework activities to help you and your partner practice what you learn and build healthy relationship habits. Assessments are based the two most popular, research-based couple's therapy approaches: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method. Couples can also complete one or both evaluation sessions as a stand-alone service to gain insight into their relationship.
Private intensive programs are also offered based on one or both of these research-based approaches and customized to your needs. Private intensives include of 10 hours of private relationship coaching and relationship enhancement sessions scheduled in blocks of 75-minutes or more within a 2-month period (see below). Structured intensives are also both privately or in group format including Premarital Counseling Programs, Online Hold Me Tight® Intensives and Groups.

Structured Assessments for Couples
EFT Communication Assessment Session |
Gottman Relationship Checkup |
Over time, all couples develop negative communication patterns that can leave partners feeling disconnected and misunderstood. This structured assessment draws from the wisdom of the EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) approach and will help you and your partner understand why even small arguments can escalate so quickly. You will gain insight into the needs that drive your negative cycle along with strategies to escape these rigid patterns that keep you and your partner stuck in conflict and disconnection. The EFT Communication Assessment is psychoeducational but it can offer you and your partner insights into your relationship even without additional services. It can also serve as a foundational step for starting Couple's Therapy. It is equally appropriate for couples in current relationship distress and couples seeking to prevent future distress.

The Relationship Checkup is a way to assess the health of your relationship, similar to an annual physical. It includes a comprehensive online assessment based on over 40 years of research by Dr. John Gottman – one of the leading researchers in the couple’s therapy field. Results are confidential, fully HIPAA compliant, and only your clinician will have access to your results. Once you complete the assessment, your clinician will walk you through your strengths, areas for growth, and strategies to help you and your partner become relationship "masters." You will also receive structured activities and resources to strengthen your communication and the quality of your relationship based on your results. The Relationship Checkup is a valuable resource for both couples in distress and those looking to strengthen their relationship as a preventative measure. The Relationship Checkup can be added to existing services or as a stand-alone package.
